Kirkandrews Kirk wedding - Aileen and Jamie - Dumfries and Galloway
Weddings are beautiful celebrations that bring together two souls in love, surrounded by their loved ones. One of the crucial elements of any wedding is photography, as it immortalizes those precious moments, emotions, and memories. In the enchanting Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, lies Kirkandrews Kirk, a picturesque location that offers a charming setting for couples seeking a truly unique wedding experience.
During the weeks leading up to Aileen and Jamie's wedding, the weather was hot and humid during the month of June but by the time the wedding day rolled around, it had cooled down considerably and the perfect setting for Aileen and Jamie's wonderful Dumfries and Galloway wedding was set.
During the preparations, the couple got ready at a location in Gatehouse of Fleet in rural Dumfries and Galloway, with great family and friends around them, all of whom played a great role in setting up a charming and intimate reception area at a family residence as well as in the grounds of the garden. Reception tables were decorated with gorgeous flowers, bunting was pinned high, tables were set, the bar was stocked, and the stage was set!
All members of the wedding party made their final preparations before the big day, fixing buttonholes, filling confetti cups and dressing the 1969 Triumph Herald Convertible in ribbons. It was time for the wedding party to board the mini bus that would take them to Kirkandrews Kirk for the wedding ceremony.
Aileen was driven to Kirkandrews Kirk in the blue 1969 Triumph Herald Convertible by her dad. Dumfries and Galloway weather was kind on route, though a light drizzle was present, the rain stayed away and a enjoyable open top drive through the rolling countryside was enjoyed on the way to the wedding ceremony at Kirkandrews.
Janice Bannister the humanist celebrant conducted a lovely service for the couple in the intimate setting inside Kirkandrews Kirk. During the ceremony, members of the family recited short readings, the wedding rings were passed around to all family members and guests, the couple tied the knot, and then the wedding rings were exchanged between them.
Following their first kiss, the formalities of the wedding registry documents were signed by the couple, and then they were welcomed by delighted family and friends who showered them with confetti and congratulated them on their new journey together.
With their families and friends by their side, the newlyweds walked a short distance to a nearby location, a beautiful coastal and rural location in Dumfries and Galloway, which served as a perfect backdrop for family and group photos, as well as a few nice shots of the newlyweds in the beautiful surroundings of Kirkcudbrightshire.
The happy couple arrived back to their reception in style in the classic wedgwood blue Triumph Herald Convertible to their awaiting wedding party who welcomed them with champagne and home made cup cakes.
Aileen and Jamie cut their cheese wedding cake, their guests were piped in procession by two local bagpipe players to the reception area. Speeches were exchanged to much delight and laughter of the couples guests, then the BBQ was opened, it was well stocked and prepared for the guests by a local vendor.
To top the evening off, live ceilidh music was played by musicians, the wonderful couple enjoyed a heart felt but fun first dance followed by a lively rest of the evening of ceilidh dancing enjoyed by all guests.
Congratulations and best wishes to Aileen and Jamie.
