I have a relaxed but dedicated approach to wedding photography, by this I try to be as unobtrusive as possible especially during the ceremonial part of the wedding day while simultaneously capturing all key moments naturally so you can look back on and relive these moments long after your special day. During your pre wedding chat we will discuss each key part of your wedding day with regards to what you want captured naturally and what you wish to be creatively captured and posed, we will also discuss which parts of your day might require a plan A and a plan B.
I've photographed weddings of all sizes, in churches, lighthouses, back gardens, town halls, wedding venues and hotels, beaches, theatres, home farms, harbours and many more unusual wedding venues in Dumfries and Galloway, wherever your wedding ceremony and wedding reception is being held, I am more than happy to cover it for you, should you have any questions regarding your wedding venue location please do get in touch, I'd be delighted to help you and chat with you about your wedding venue for the optimal photography opportunities.

This wedding photography package is perfect for couples who only require their wedding ceremony photographed.
To save the date upon booking, a £50 non refundable deposit is required with your remaining balance paid around one week prior to your wedding date, this is also deducted from your final balance.

This digital files only wedding photography package is perfect for smaller weddings or if you only require a certain part of your wedding day to be photographed, the start time is entirely up to you, a great flexibility package and very cost effective.

This wedding photography package is perfect for full day weddings. I can start at anytime of your choosing but generally most couples choose bridal prep as the start time, all key events during your day will be captured such as your ceremony, formal photographs, speeches, cutting of the cake and first dance plus more. This is my most popular package it provides great value.

FAQ
WE DON’T LIKE POSING FOR PHOTOGRAPHS, IS THAT OK?
Yes. I always discuss with my couples during their pre wedding chat if they wish to be posed for group photographs or the bride and groom portraits. If you want your whole day photographed naturally and candidly without any posing, this is absolutely fine.
DOES IT MATTER THAT YOU’VE NOT SHOT AT OUR VENUE BEFORE?
Not at all. If I've never photographed a wedding at your venue I will travel to it ahead of your wedding day to see where the nice spots are and if possible touch base with any staff on site for any further information about any possible locations on site or nearby for bride and groom portraits, if required. If it's within one hour drive from my home address. For all other locations i might not have been to before, outside of this travel time i will research extensively online everything about your venue and immediate surrounding areas of interest.
I have worked as a press photographer for seven years prior so I am used to arriving at locations I've never visited and having to think on my feet and find a good location for a key shot when required and have on many occasion researched locations for photoshoots and photo calls.
HOW LONG AFTER OUR WEDDING DATE WILL WE RECEIVE THE FINISHED PHOTOGRAPHS?
During quieter months I try to get your finished wedding photographs to you within one week. During the summer, peak wedding season this can extend to three weeks though I always aim for one week even in the much busier months.
During the pre wedding chat I will be able to give you an up to date expectation.
HOW LONG WILL THE GROUP PHOTOGRAPHS TAKE AT OUR WEDDING?
On average most group pictures at weddings can take around three minutes to set up, I usually advise couples to write a list of ten to fifteen group photo combinations, as you can begin to see this will be around thirty to forty minutes, depending. Some couples don't want a portrait session but would much rather have a longer list of group photographs, perhaps because they have a big, close family or perhaps they have family visiting from around the world they rarely see. I hope that gives you a insight, I always establish during the pre wedding chat how many planned group shots you wish to have taken and if you want a longer list or prefer not to have group photographs taken at all, either option is fine and we will establish this during your pre wedding chat.
WE HAVE BOOKED A VIDEOGRAPHER FOR OUR WEDDING OR ARE ABOUT TO, IS THIS OK?
Absolutely, I always try to work alongside videographers at weddings and mindful they too will require me not to be in their frame on most occasions during your special day, it cannot always be guaranteed I won't be in their frame depending on the ceremony or reception venue size and available positions but where i can be out of their frame I will always work with videographers to make sure as best as possible this is the case. I am also mindful your videographer will possibly require time with you both for some creative moments for their work too. Upon booking me you can put your videographer in touch with me and I will gladly speak with them ahead of your special day to form a good working relationship from the get-go, I'm very easy to work with and will make sure both myself and your videographer can work efficiently as possible together on your day.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK OUR PHOTOGRAPHER?
Ideally as soon as is possible for you, a lot of wedding photographers diaries can be booked up two years ahead for peak wedding season months.
WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE TO PHOTOGRAPH WEDDINGS?
I use full frame Nikon cameras and professional grade Nikon lenses for the Nikon system, this enables me to shoot in lower light without flash if required, especially in local church venues around Dumfries and Galloway, flash is not usually allowed during wedding ceremonies, this is perfectly fine and is always respected. For all other parts of your wedding day I will photograph using a combination of natural light, on camera flash and off camera flash with soft boxes or umbrellas, whatever it takes.
ARE THERE ANY HIDDEN COSTS WITH YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY PACKAGES?
There are no hidden costs.
All of my wedding photography package prices listed on this page are locked in for wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions taking place anywhere in and around Wigtownshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Dumfriesshire with all of my costs factored in.
I am absolutely more than happy to travel outside of these counties to photograph your wedding day if you live further afield of Wigtownshire, Kirkcudbrightshire or Dumfriesshire, a small mileage fee may need to be applied depending where your wedding ceremony and reception take place outside of these counties. This mileage fee will be fair and standard at 45p per mile, calculated as a round trip from my post code area DG8 to the postcode area of either your wedding ceremony or reception and agreed by both of us before your wedding photography package is booked in and confirmed.
